I think now I will follow my own advice by complaining in hopes that it will speed up the process. We're now at exactly 30 days until we leave, so I'm ready to receive our staging packet! I particularly want to know what is on the packing list the PC provides so that I can start figuring out what I need to bring and what I still need to get.
We got our passport documents sent in to receive our new Peace Corps passports, and we also sent in our Aspiration Statements and updated resumes. Yesterday I received a call from someone at Department of State in charge of passports (I think) who told me that my passport was "accidentally canceled" so I either needed to get my old one reissued or pay $67 to get a new one. I'm not really sure why or how a passport gets canceled on accident; I was sort of confused about the whole thing, so I called someone at SATO Travel and she seemed irritated that the other woman contacted me at all--she called that woman back and told them to reissue my passport, so crisis averted for now, I suppose.
